Privacy Policy
For SnowCrew and the other BlockCrew apps · Last updated September 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Xoan Martinez (“BlockCrew,” “we,” “us”) collects when you use SnowCrew or any other BlockCrew app, how we use and share it, and your choices. We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
1. Information you give us
Account: your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored in scrambled (hashed) form by our hosting provider; we can’t see them.
Jobs: the address you enter, what needs clearing, the size, price, notes and photos, and any changes such as price raises, cancellations and approvals.
Messages: chat messages and photos you send to the other person on a job.
Ratings: the stars and comments you give and get after jobs.
Saved addresses and promo codes: addresses you choose to save for posting jobs, and promo codes you use.
Reports and blocks: who you block, and any report you send us about someone, including what you tell us.
Payments: card details are entered into Stripe’s secure payment screen and go directly to Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We keep Stripe’s reference numbers for your payments, and can show you the brand, last 4 digits and expiry date of saved cards.
Shoveler payouts: to pay shovelers, Stripe collects details such as legal name, date of birth, address, bank account and part or all of a Social Security number, under Stripe’s own privacy policy. We receive only limited information from Stripe, such as whether your payout account is ready.
Support: anything you send us when you contact us.
2. Information collected when you use the app
Location: only if you allow it, and only while you’re using the app (never in the background). We use it to show jobs near you and their distance, and to fill in your address when you tap “Use my current location.” When you open Find work, we save your location and the distance you chose so we can tell you about new jobs nearby; it’s replaced each time you look for work.
Map location of jobs: we turn the address you enter into a point on the map, using your phone’s built-in maps service (Apple Maps on iPhone).
Your track record: when you book, start, back out of or miss jobs, and how many jobs you’ve finished. We use this to keep the service reliable, as described in our Terms.
Notifications: if you allow notifications, we store a code for your phone (a “push token”) so we can send you notifications.
Technical information: our hosting providers automatically keep standard logs, such as IP address, device and app details, and times of requests, to run and protect the service.
3. How we use information
We use information to: create and run your account; show, book and manage jobs; show nearby jobs and distances; process payments, holds, refunds, payouts and tips; send notifications you’ve chosen; let customers and shovelers message each other; handle support requests, reports and disputes between users (to look into a report, we read the job and the messages between the people involved); keep people safe and prevent fraud, abuse and payment problems; enforce our Terms; meet legal, tax and accounting requirements; and fix and improve the app.
4. What other users can see
Anyone signed in can see open jobs: the tasks, size, price, notes, photos, the customer’s name as entered, the street name, a rough area on a map (within about 0.2 miles of the real location) and the approximate distance. The exact address and map pin are shown only to the customer and the shoveler who books the job. Your average rating, and the number of jobs you’ve finished as a shoveler, are shown next to your name; rating comments are only visible to the two people on the job.
On a booked job, the customer and shoveler can see each other’s names, the job’s before and after photos, and their chat messages with each other. Other users can’t see your email address, your saved cards or your location.
People you block can’t see your open jobs or message you, and they aren’t told that you blocked them. We don’t tell anyone who reported them.
5. Who we share information with
Service providers that run parts of BlockCrew for us, only as needed for that work: Supabase (database, file storage and hosting), Stripe (payments and payouts), Expo (delivering notifications), Resend (sending emails, such as password reset codes and reports to our team), Cloudflare (our website and support email), and Apple and Google (maps, addresses and directions, when you use those features). These companies handle information under their own privacy policies and security practices.
Other users, as described in section 4.
Legal and safety: when we believe it’s required by law or legal process, or needed to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the public or BlockCrew, including to prevent fraud.
Business changes: if BlockCrew is reorganized into a company, merged or sold, information may be transferred as part of that, under this Privacy Policy.
With your permission, in any other case.
6. How long we keep information
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, the jobs you posted, your messages, photos, location, notification settings and saved cards. Jobs you did for other people stay in their history without your name. Some records may be kept for longer where needed to resolve disputes, prevent fraud, meet tax and legal requirements (payment records, which Stripe also keeps, are often kept for up to 7 years), or enforce our Terms. Reports about users are kept even after either account is deleted, to keep BlockCrew safe.
7. Your choices
Location and notifications: you can turn these off in your iPhone Settings at any time, and you can choose which kinds of notifications you get in the app’s Account tab.
Saved cards and addresses: you can remove them in the Account tab.
Deleting your account: tap Delete account at the bottom of the Account tab. Some information may be kept as described in section 6.
Access and correction: you can ask for a copy of your information or ask us to correct it by emailing help@blockcrew.us.
8. Your state privacy rights
Depending on where you live (for example, California), you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to get a copy, to correct it, to have it deleted, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. We don’t sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To use your rights, email us; we’ll need to confirm it’s you, and you can use an authorized agent where the law allows.
9. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections, access controls that keep exact addresses private until booking, and letting Stripe handle card details. No system is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security. Keep your password private and tell us if you think your account has been accessed without permission.
10. Children
BlockCrew is for people 16 and older, and people under 18 need a parent’s or guardian’s permission. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
11. Where information is kept
BlockCrew is for people in the United States. Your information is stored and processed in the United States and wherever our service providers operate.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. If changes are significant, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
